Why teams choose AVELIN

This page restores the business case that earlier pages of these docs made, in the current vocabulary and without numbers. It says what AVELIN changes day to day, how a rollout goes, and what to measure. The numbers that matter are your own: count them with the cost formula, or run a POC.

What AVELIN changes

1. A model chosen for each request

Most platforms use fixed rules or leave the choice to the person calling the API. The Decision Layer reads each request and picks the level of model it needs: a more capable model for hard tasks, a cheaper one for easy tasks. The choice is made for every request, not once for a whole application. Every decision is logged with its reason.

2. Nine models built for three kinds of work

AVELIN has 3 families · 9 models. Chat is for knowledge work, mostly multimodal. Coding is for math and code, with large context windows. Agents is for volume work that runs 24/7. Each comes in fast, pro and ultra. The nine models are built to work with the Decision Layer.

3. Cost you can see and cap

Cost is shown by team, key and model, with budgets and caps. Because the price list is public, the cost of a task is arithmetic on your own logs.

4. Learning that you switch on or off

The Decision Layer can learn from how your tasks turn out and tune model choice for your workload. You switch it on or off. When it is off, nothing is learned from your traffic.

5. One governed platform, not tool sprawl

The API, the AVELIN App, MCP connectors and Y-Ray Data run on the same nine models, with one billing relationship and one set of controls.

6. No lock-in

One endpoint speaks the OpenAI and Anthropic wire formats. Changing the base URL and the key is the whole migration, in both directions. The Decision Layer works with your own accounts at the providers you already use, so you keep your contracts.

7. From answers to actions

AVELIN MCP connects assistants to Gmail, Calendar, Contacts and Tasks with permission-scoped access, so a plan can end in a completed action.

8. Answers with sources

Y-Ray Data combines your own documents with live web research and gives a source for every important claim, which lowers the risk of unsupported output in high-stakes analysis.

9. Three levels of privacy control

AVELIN Cloud has zero retention by default. A hybrid deployment lets you decide whether detected private data may go to a public model or must stay on your GPUs. On-premise, prompts are processed on your own GPUs. See Privacy.

10. You choose where it runs

AVELIN Cloud, an enterprise deployment on your own GPUs, or a hybrid of the two. A sovereign AI platform deployment means you, not a vendor or a cloud, decide where the system runs and who can reach it. See Deployment.

11. Knowledge that compounds

Shared prompts, assistants and workflows carry what one team learned to the next, so new teams ramp faster and depend less on individual experts.

Day-to-day operations

AreaWhat improves
Workflow completionOne connected flow from analysis to action, with the right model on each step
Output consistencyPolicy controls and shared templates, with each request sent to the model built for its kind of work
Knowledge reuseYour documents become a searchable base that new people can use from day one
Follow-throughPlans become tracked actions, so fewer commitments are missed
Cross-team coordinationOne API surface and shared workflows reduce handoff friction
ReliabilityIf a model has a temporary error, AVELIN retries and can fail over to a backup, and your price does not change
Everyday governanceAccess controls and budgets sit in the normal path of use, not beside it

A rollout in three stages

  1. Prove. Run a POC of the Decision Layer on one workload, beside your current setup. Baseline cost per task and quality. Nothing sits in your production path.
  2. Scale. Move proven workflows to AVELIN Cloud and widen to more teams. Put each team on its own key with its own budget.
  3. Optimize. Tune model choice by workload with your own evaluation data. If data must stay on your hardware, scope an enterprise or hybrid deployment.

What to measure

  • Cost per task, by workload
  • Time to complete the top workflows
  • Rework rate for high-value outputs
  • Share of requests sent to each tier
  • Action completion rate from AVELIN-assisted plans
  • Incident recovery trend
  • Governance-compliant execution rate for sensitive workflows
