AltaIR Capital has been investing since 2005 and backs early-stage companies in the US, Europe and Israel. The firm has $600M under management and more than 400 companies in its portfolio, among them Deel, Miro, PandaDoc, Turing and Socure. In 2026, Dealroom ranked AltaIR Capital in the top 1% of VC firms globally. The firm is particularly drawn to AI and SaaS solutions, and its focus areas include FinTech and productivity tools. The firm launched AltaLab in November 2025 as a hands-on program that helps founders build scalable and investable companies.

The program runs in three stages. First, the Online Sprint: three weeks of practical sessions and assignments, where every framework is applied directly to the participant's own company. Second, Founder Residency: one-on-one sessions with the AltaLab team, founder masterminds, workshops, and preparation for investor conversations and Demo Day. Third, Build and Scale: selected teams get a path to a $50,000 SAFE investment for go-to-market, and companies with proven results and solid metrics may receive up to $500,000 from AltaIR Capital. The firm commits $15 million a year to backing AltaLab teams.

The first cohort in spring 2026 showed how tight the selection is: more than 750 applications, over 250 teams completed the Online Sprint, 30 made it to the in-person bootcamp in Barcelona, and 10 received investment offers.

For AVELIN AI, AltaLab is a chance to look at the business from the outside and test its decisions in practice. According to Yury Akinin, the program offers a practical framework for seeing a startup and its business from different angles. That is not easy to do when you are absorbed in operations, execution, technology, meetings and conferences.
