What is AVELIN?

AVELIN AI is a deep-tech team that does R&D, trains models and builds the product. Its software picks the right AI model for every request, so you pay for top intelligence only when a task needs it. It runs in the cloud, on your own GPUs, or both.

Updated

What are the two AVELIN products?

Product 1 is the AVELIN Decision Layer. It picks a model for every request and works with the AI providers you already use. Product 2 is the sovereign AVELIN platform: an inference layer you install on your GPUs, nine AVELIN models and an API platform. You can start with a POC of the Decision Layer.

One path

  • Prove. Run a POC of the Decision Layer on the providers you use now.
  • Move. Use AVELIN Cloud, with the nine models and the Decision Layer.
  • Own. Run the platform on your GPUs, as an enterprise or hybrid deployment.

Which problems does AVELIN address?

Four. Top AI models are priced for the hardest work. Most tasks do not need the top model. Budgets overrun because cost is not tied to a task. And privacy is a top AI worry, because teams must control where data goes. AVELIN has an answer to each.

  • Top models are priced for the hardest work. Agents loop, call tools and retry, so one task can use many times the tokens of a chat. The Decision Layer chooses a model per request.
  • Most tasks do not need the top model. Teams send everything to the top model to be safe. Nobody risks a cheaper model. The workflow could break. The Decision Layer picks the level each task needs, and hard tasks still go to a top model.
  • Budgets overrun and cost is not tied to a task. A bill by provider does not show which team, agent or task caused it. The API platform shows cost by team, key and model, with budgets and caps.
  • Privacy is the top-ranked AI concern in a 2026 survey of 750 IT, security and AI leaders. AvePoint ran it with Osterman Research, and AvePoint sells data-governance software. The question is where a prompt is processed, whether it is kept and whether it can leave. AVELIN gives three levels of control.

What is the AVELIN Decision Layer?

AVELIN's own trained decision model reads each request and picks the model it needs: a more capable model when the task needs intelligence, a cheaper one when it is easy, on every request.

One request, one choice. The Decision Layer reads the request, picks a model and records the cost.

Read, choose, record

  • Read. It reads the request and judges what kind of task it is and how hard.
  • Choose. It picks the model: a more capable one when intelligence is needed, a cheaper one when it is not.
  • Record. It records which model answered and what it cost, so you can see cost per task.

Works with your providers

Supported providers include OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, DigitalOcean and ElevenLabs, with others on the partners page. It also works with AVELIN models and with models on your own GPUs.

What it can do

  • Self-learning loop. You switch it on or off. When it is on, AVELIN distills your data to improve quality, cut cost and speed up work.
  • Quality analysis. Answers are scored, so you can see whether a cheaper model was enough.
  • Dangerous-request detection. Flags requests that look dangerous.
  • Private-data detection. Finds private data inside a request.
  • Tuned per enterprise. The Decision Layer is tuned to each enterprise's tasks and rules.

How much can the Decision Layer cut cost?

Up to 90% lower cost per task. In our live Arena, at list prices. The median of 122 recorded runs cost 90.1% less per task than the same task on a flagship model.

What is the sovereign AVELIN platform?

It is AVELIN's inference layer, installed on your own GPUs and optimized at GPU level for nine AVELIN models. An API platform sits on top, with cost control and user management. A sovereign AI platform means you, not a vendor or a cloud, decide where the system runs and who can reach it.

How can I deploy AVELIN?

Three ways. AVELIN Cloud runs the nine models with the Decision Layer, and you can connect your own providers. Enterprise puts the Decision Layer, or the full platform, on your hardware. Hybrid keeps local models on your GPUs and offloads to a public model when needed, with a privacy check.

  • AVELIN Cloud. The nine AVELIN models plus the Decision Layer. Connect your own providers and use the Decision Layer to optimize token spend. Global inference in the United States, Europe and MENA. Isolated in-country locations are planned.
  • Enterprise. The Decision Layer for your workflows, the full platform (inference, models, APIs), or both, on your hardware and optimized for it. Models can be fine-tuned or trained on your workflows. Request a POC
  • Hybrid. Your GPUs run local models. When a task needs more intelligence, or the local model is under heavy load, the Decision Layer can offload it to a public model. A privacy check lets you decide whether detected private data may go to the cloud or must stay on your GPUs. Request a POC
Hybrid. Local models run on your GPUs. The privacy check decides what may leave.

How does AVELIN handle privacy?

Privacy is three questions: what do you keep, where does it run, and can it leave? AVELIN answers at three levels. AVELIN Cloud has zero retention by default. Hybrid lets you decide what may leave your GPUs. On-premise processes prompts on your GPUs, which is the ultimate privacy.

  1. Level 1AVELIN CloudZero retention by default.
  2. Level 2HybridYou set the rule for private data.
  3. Level 3On-premisePrompts are processed on your own GPUs.
Three levels of control: AVELIN Cloud, Hybrid and On-premise.

Does AVELIN use my prompts to improve its models?

Not by default. You can opt in to share anonymized requests to help improve AVELIN. Sharing is off by default, and you can turn it off at any time.

What we keep is vector representations (embeddings) of your requests, with account identifiers removed. They are not linked to your account.

How much does AVELIN cost?

AVELIN Cloud is pay per token at public list prices. Across the nine models, input costs $0.285 to $2.50 per 1M tokens and output costs $1.14 to $12.50 per 1M tokens. The Decision Layer is priced per request and quoted in the POC. Enterprise and on-premise are priced by agreement.

  • No subscription and no minimum.
  • Example: summarizing a 2,000-word document with avelin-pro costs about $0.006.
  • Other endpoints: speech-to-text $0.006 per minute, text-to-speech $0.12 to $0.24 per 1K characters, web search $0.005 per request, web scraping $0.001 per request.

What do the key terms mean?

Eight terms carry the AVELIN story. Each has one plain definition.

Decision Layer
AVELIN's product that reads each request and picks the model it needs. Hard tasks go to a more capable model. Easy tasks go to a cheaper one. A decision model that AVELIN trains makes the choice.
Sovereign AI platform
AVELIN's inference layer, nine models and API platform on GPUs you control. You, not a vendor or a cloud, decide where it runs and who can reach it.
Hybrid
Local models on your GPUs, plus an offload to a public model when a task needs more intelligence or the local model is under heavy load.
Privacy check
A step in a hybrid deployment that detects private data in a request. You decide whether it may go to a public model or must stay on your GPUs.
Zero retention
AVELIN Cloud does not keep your prompts by default. The data policy has the detail.
POC
A proof of concept. AVELIN runs the Decision Layer on a workload you choose and reports cost per task side by side with your current setup.
Tiers
fast, pro and ultra. Fast is for speed and low cost. Pro is balanced, for medium complexity. Ultra is for the hardest tasks.
Cost per task
What one finished piece of work costs, summed over every model call in it. Agents make many calls per task, so price per token alone hides the bill.

Questions

Who is AVELIN for?

Enterprises that run AI at volume and want a lower cost per task. Also organizations that need control over where AI runs and where their data goes.

What is the difference between the Decision Layer and the sovereign platform?

The Decision Layer chooses a model for each request and works with the providers you already use. The sovereign platform is AVELIN's inference layer, nine models and API platform on your own GPUs. The nine models are tuned to work with the Decision Layer, so the platform is a natural next step.

Which AI providers does the Decision Layer work with?

It works with almost any endpoint. Supported providers include OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic, DigitalOcean and ElevenLabs, with others on the partners page. It also works with AVELIN models and models on your own GPUs.

How is the Decision Layer different from model routers and AI gateways?

A rules-based gateway sends a request where a rule you wrote says, such as a price ceiling, a fallback order or a keyword. A model provider's automatic router chooses only among that provider's own models. The Decision Layer uses a trained model that reads each request and chooses across the providers you connect, AVELIN models and models on your own GPUs, and it records the reason for every choice.

Does AVELIN keep or train on my prompts?

AVELIN Cloud has zero retention by default, and prompts are not used to improve AVELIN. You can opt in to share anonymized requests to help improve AVELIN. It is off by default.
